Taking a day off, retrieving a payslip, or checking one’s benefits: these HR processes are part of the daily routine for employees of the BNP Paribas group. The ALIS portal centralizes all these operations in a unique online space. Instead of multiplying contacts or paper files, each employee has personal access to manage their documents and absences from a web browser.

Connection security to the ALIS portal: what really protects your data

Before discussing leaves or payslips, one point deserves special attention: how ALIS protects personal information. The portal relies on multi-factor authentication that combines internal identifiers and additional verification (often by phone).

This mechanism prevents a simple stolen password from being enough to access your contracts or payslips. Specifically, when logging in, the system sends a temporary code to the phone number registered in your HR file. Without this code, access remains blocked.

The platform operates on the group’s internal network. An employee working remotely or traveling generally needs to go through a VPN to reach the portal, adding an extra layer of encryption. This technical constraint, sometimes seen as a hindrance, actually serves as a barrier against intrusion attempts from public networks.

Leave management on ALIS: request, modify, track

Have you ever tried to request leave via email, following up with the manager, copying HR, and waiting without visibility on the approval? ALIS replaces this chain with a dematerialized circuit that provides real-time tracking.

Requesting leave in a few clicks

The leave module directly displays your balance of available days (paid leave, RTT, seniority days). To submit a request, simply select the dates and type of absence. The request is instantly sent to the manager for approval.

The employee then receives a notification in the portal, confirming the approval or rejection. No need to follow up: the status of each request remains accessible at any time.

Modify or cancel an already approved absence

An unforeseen event can change your plans. On ALIS, an approved request can be modified as long as the period has not started. The modification goes back through the manager’s approval circuit. This process avoids informal exchanges that leave gray areas in the team’s schedule.

Managers, for their part, have a consolidated view of their team’s absences. This visibility allows them to anticipate periods of understaffing without having to manually compile requests received through different channels.

HR documents and payslips: a digital safe accessible at all times

The second pillar of ALIS concerns the consultation and downloading of administrative documents. Payslips, employer certificates, insurance contracts, and group insurance statements are stored in a secure personal space.

  • Payslips are archived month by month and remain accessible for several years, which avoids having to contact HR for a duplicate.
  • Insurance and provident contracts related to the BNP Paribas group can be consulted with details of the subscribed guarantees.
  • Certificates (employment, income) can be generated or downloaded directly, without manual processing delays.

Each downloaded document retains the same legal value as the original paper version. For a mortgage application or a rental file, these documents are therefore directly usable.

Difference between ALIS, candidate space, and BNP Paribas banking space

A common confusion needs to be clarified. The BNP Paribas group offers several online spaces with distinct scopes.

  • ALIS is reserved for current employees (employees, apprentices, managers). It exclusively concerns internal HR management: payroll, leave, contracts, training.
  • The candidate space, accessible from the group’s careers site, allows users to apply for job offers and track the progress of an application. It does not provide any access to the HR modules of ALIS.
  • The banking space (My Bank, client applications) manages current accounts, savings, and financial products. It has no technical link with the ALIS portal.

Trying to connect to ALIS with banking credentials will not work. ALIS identifiers are provided by the human resources department during onboarding into the group.

What to do when ALIS is under maintenance or inaccessible

The ALIS portal may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance operations. The official page then displays a message from the HRG GAP teams inviting users to be patient. This situation, although occasional, can pose a problem if you need to download an urgent document.

Be proactive by keeping a local copy of your latest payslips and your most requested certificates. In case of prolonged maintenance, the HR service of your entity remains reachable to provide a document outside the portal.

If the connection problem is not due to announced maintenance, first check that your browser is up to date and that your VPN connection is active. Outdated browsers regularly cause display errors or blocks at the authentication step.

ALIS centralizes HR processes that, separately, would consume considerable time in exchanges and document searches. The centralization of leaves, payslips, and contracts in a secure portal simplifies the administrative life of employees of the BNP Paribas group, provided they master the basics of connection and keep a local copy of the most requested documents.
